Finding that perfect gift for someone can be a difficult, anxiety inducing task.  This list I put together is full of my favorites for the garden.  The only things I don’t own are the apron and the T-Shirts, both on my wishlist for my husband. I kept this list realitvely inexpensive. Hopefully it gives you ideas on what to get your gardener!

  1. Apron : This apron is on my wish list. Its got a huge pocket to hold your harvest. It makes hand free harvesting a breeze. It also can hold tools, eggs, debris, really anything you need to carry around.
  2. Seed Organizer : I have two of these photo organizers to hold all my seeds. I’ve had it for a couple years now and its held up really well. Seed packets fit perfectly in each of the holders.
  3. Sun Hat : Sun protection is a must! This had is perfect for wide coverage and has nice tassels so it wont fly away in the wind.
  4. Soil Blocker : This soil blocker isn’t the most beginner basic thing you can get, but if you are planning on starting your own seeds, its a nice thing to have. Instead of having plastic trays that may or may not break, you make your own blocks out of soil. Then when its time to transplant, you just plant the block right into the ground.
  5. Hand Tools :  Every gardener needs hand tools. I love fiskars. I’ve had mine for several years and they have held up really well. And I am someone who is super hard on their tools.
  6. Garden Shirt : I love funny T-Shirts that are anything garden/ homestead related. I thought this was super cue and is on my wish list.
  7. Stirrup Hoe : This is one of my most used tools. Its adjustable so you can save your back standing and weeding. You can also make it a hand tool to get up close and personal around your plants.
  8. Veggie Seed Kit : This basic seed kit has 20 different vegtables to get you started. They are all heirloom varieties so you can seed save from them!
  9. Garden T-Shirt : Another super cute homestead shirt. Also on my wishlist.
  10. Japenese Sickle : This hand tool is a total game changer for weeding. It is pretty sharp so it takes everything out. It has cut my weeding time by at least half. I don’t know how I gardened for so long without it.
  11. Garden Gloves : I’ve used these gardening gloves for years.  They work really well and I havent had any tear or get holes in them. I have had to order multiple times just because I lose gloves a lot but they are worth the reorder.
  12. Pruning Shears : Another fisker product. These pruning shears will help pruning bushes, harvesting things like summer squashes and okra. I’ve had them for years and had 0 issues.
  13. The Complete Book of Self Sufficiency : This was a gift from my husband a couple years ago and I have read it cover to cover. It has really good information  ranging from gardening layouts, beekeeping, animal husbandry to full on homestead layouts. Its a great reference book to have.
  14. Harvest Tubs : These harvest tubs are great to have. You can use them during the season for harvesting and then use them for all sorts of other stuff in the off season. We have one as a goat waterer.
